In 1906, the Carrefour de Buci, Pierre Curie was fatally hit by a cab, and a mender, who lived from 1895 Cour de Rohan, was doing to her rescue: Antoine Romanet, great maternal grandfather of Christian Lavigne, who today 'Today lives and works in the same place, once inhabited by small people and the bohemian.

Born in 1959, Christian Lavigne, after scientific studies, turned to art and poetry. He participated in magazines, broadcasts, literary cabarets, then came slowly to the visual arts in reflecting on the possibilities of encounter between art, science and poetry.
Working initially on his "graphene" (symbolic and geometrical figures), with some equations and some ink, he then devoted to forms in space.
The plastic work of the artist feeds mainly symbolic and mythological references multicultural. To make sculptures, environments, it uses advanced technology still rare in the art world.
Christian Lavigne is internationally known as such as pioneer and robosculpture telesculpture, disciplines presented every 2 years during INTERSCULPT. It proposes the creation of an International Centre for Research and Teaching Sculpture (CIRES).
